What is the status of iOS 10.2 jailbreak? This is the most frequently asked question in the jailbreak community, specially from who missed iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak by the well know developer Luca Todesco. So let us show you what exactly the progress in iOS 10.2 jailbreak.
Within the last two weeks, the Italian hacker Luca Tudesco was able to release the first iOS 10 jailbreak using Google’s Project Zero exploit published by Ian Beer. But does the talented hacker has any news for iOS 10.2 jailbreak?
iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Status:
As always, many security bugs has been patched after the release of iOS 10.2 but the good news is that Luca Todesco has stated via his official Twitter account, that he found vulnerability in iOS 10.2.
10.2 is vuln to my KPP thing. Not blowing 0days for it 😉
But what doe’s this mean?
It means that he has a good progress, and iOS 10.2 is vulnerable to his KPP (Kernel Patch Protection) but it still need nerdy efforts to release a final jailbreak for iOS 10.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Does he intend to release jailbreak for iOS 10.2?
So far, he didn’t give such promise, in his last tweet he mentioned that he will not complete the missing parts for iOS 10.2 jailbreak, so we highly expect that one of the members of prominent jailbreak teams such as those belonging to TaiG or Pangu gonna upgrade their famous tools to be able to jailbreak the latest iOS firmware.
Light at the end of the tunnel:
The well know iOS hacker and developer Stefan Esser (aka i0n1c), claims that iOS 10.2 is about to his soon via his official Twitter account, but so far no proofs nor any explanation, do you think he gonna do it?
There is a good achievement by Luca Tudesco, but it he decided to take a vacation and will not release a final version for iOS 10.2 jailbreak. And it looks like that TaiG or Pangu will complete the job. So far there are no official statements from the both teams, accordingly there is no estimate-to-arrival for iOS 10.2 jailbreak, but we should hear some good news soon, stay tuned.
