After long silence, a new video has emerged claiming to show iOS 10.1.1 / 10.1 jailbreak on iPhone 7. A new iOS hacker that goes by the handle @ijapija00 was able to demoing iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak on iPhone 7. In this post we will let you know the full progress about this achievement.

jailbreak ios 10.1.1 iPhone 7

As most of you know that Apple is fighting hard against jailbreaking by releasing many updates to fix many bugs which may help jailbreak hackers. So that we think  jailbreaking iOS 10.1.1 on iPhone 7 is considered as a pretty big deal.

The guy behind this video, claims that the shown off jailbreak is based on single exploit. He also was able to show off working tweak called Amalthea, which was developed by the hacker himself as well.

iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak Video – Important note:

Usually when we see such demo videos, the hackers always show off the running iOS firmware by simply going to Settings > General > About, but in this video the hacker shows the running iOS version by using third party system query apps, so you should take this video with a grain of salt, just like the others.

Tethered or Untethered

According to the hacker, iOS 10.1.1 is semi-untethered jailbreak. This kind of jailbreaks relies on jailbreak app on your iPhone homescreen in order to boot in jailbroken state every time your reboot your iPhone. We can say it is like Pangu iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak.

iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak release date

This jailbreak tool will not be released to public according to the hacker official statement. The hacker doesn’t need have the time to offer support for the jailbreak issue, and wanna avoid to be responsible for any damage may occurs to users’ devices.

He said:

The major reasons for this not being published are:
1. Cydia Substrate is patched by replacing a library that loads the tweaks into the system. If we would have a un-patched Substrate for 10.x then I maybe would consider twice about this. But as long as it’s patched and I don’t own it, there’ll be not releases!
2. As a single developer, I don’t want to be responsible for other people’s devices, if they break or lose something. I neither don’t have the time to help people having problems with the jailbreak process itself.
3. Also, this jailbreak is stable sometimes and sometimes not. That means that it’s mostly used for testing tweaks or for private use and is NOT ready to be released at all!

Conclusion:

Despite all the security measures by Apple to stop jailbreaking, jailbreak iOS 10.1.1 still possible, but as we mentioned above that @ijapija00 won’t release it, so we highly expect that one of the two famous jailbreak teams, Pangu or TaiG gonna create iOS 10 jailbreak.
